See?! Projection screens are less troublesome anyway. You can put them away to keep up the allure of a snazzy room, and give me the chocolates; I’m sick of beans and rice – it seems that’s all people eat in this part of the world. But a trip is worth it.

That’s all I’m sayin’. But yeah… don’t for a second think he’s going to go without — he’s using this as an excuse to get the projection screen he’s been wanting. He looked like he was having a stroke when I told him I don’t even have cable.

I’ll pass on the chocolates… I’d rather take the raise or a sweet bonus so I can take an awesome trip or start my new company selling tent chandeliers — you know, for the snazzy traveler. ;)

Thanks, Judy! It’s definitely dark. And I’m not gonna lie — if I lived in a tropical locale, I definitely wouldn’t have chosen this color. If I lived in Costa Rica or Florida, I would’ve gone light and airy, all the way. :)

You’re very right! Every other room in the house was designed for resale – this one is just for us.

Thanks! Though it wasn’t hard to improve on that light/ceiling fan. ;) I’m sure Justin will be giving me hell though in the summer when he’s hot!

And you’re right — though not everyone loves it (*cough*mom*cough*), it was worth it for me to finally start doing ONE room without re-sale in mind. :)

The walls are Valspar (Lowe’s brand) Rugged Suede (4003-2B), and the ceiling is Valspar Filtered Shade (4003-1B).

The runner-up for the walls was Mountain Smoke (6004-2B), but it’s slightly more taupe than gray. I actually bought Mountain Smoke first, decided after putting up some samples that I wanted it grayer, and had them color correct to make it Rugged Suede.

It was a WAY scary color to pick since we’ve never gone this dark, but so far I’m thrilled with it! It’s dreamy and relaxing, exactly how I’m realizing I like my bedroom to be. We plan on lighting it up quite a bit with painted furniture, white drapes, etc., so stay tuned. :)

He wanted it broken; you do know that, right? Perhaps he’s married, or indecisive. You gave him the perfect excuse to buy another, or to do the noble thing of going without. Whichever the case, his hidden anger was actually gratitude. Good on you for pulling through for him. Maybe you’ll get a raise out of it. Or a box of chocolates.
